If there is anybody who is genuinely interested in the original thread topic, there is an excellent further article on the subject just been posted.

I had a meeting with the head of Opta today!

Didn't like it that I knew more about sport.

Re: Statto Alert - West Ham success not sustainable
Though it's slightly off-topic, I am a bit pissed off with Opta etc in terms of recording our formation at the weekend. All the sites and TV pretty much got it wrong. I tweeted whoscored and they said Opta would review it, but it hasn't been changed. So therefore also wrong on Squawka, BBC, Sky etc. Most of them have Moses playing on the left wing, for example, which is just wrong - he played on the right throughout.

That, for me, is a fundamental issue with stats generally. Can you even trust them to be right? Not in all cases imo.

I honestly wish you would start taking me less seriously at some point. What ever it was, move on, mate.

West Ham's form on that basis certainly isnt sustainable....if we played Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal in every away game of the season.

Mongs.

So boring that I forget but you obviously remember really well?

(Not the most thought-through "zinger" ever, mate. Probably time to pack it in. Just leave threads for their topics).

Besides, I bear you no ill feelings and honestly don't know what I did to attract all this attention lately.

Another post out of the blue directed at me - I must, must have really wound you up a few months back. Sorry but our interactions are really not than important to me and I can't remember.

But what are you on about with Nolan?

I have been saying since the beginning of the season that a graceful departure was probably the best option but respected Bilic for taking a look what he could do first.

I think the most states for us is that Nolan & Carroll have started 1 games between them this season.

You will learn about the game eventually.

Re: Statto Alert - West Ham success not sustainable
People tend to dismiss stats that they don't agree with and they certainly aren't the most important thing in analysis but they have a place.

I think the conclusion drawn by the article and the post from article is as premature as thinking we will finish 3rd because that is where we stand right now but they do actually provide some something to consider.

They confirm we have has some extraordinary results, beat team we probably should not and lost to teams we should not have. Over the course of the season the results will in all likelihood become less extraordinary, so the coaching staff has figure how to make our team such that the winning results are not an aberration and the losing ones are.

So some consideration of stats might help that.

We should all know that playing the same way and expecting the same result from every match is silly and I thing that these stats just highlight that we will have to make adjustments if we want to continue winning against good team and continue what we started with winning against poorer teams.

No sure why that is offensive any more than any other news story with a trumped up headline.

West Ham in 'probably wont win the league' shocker.

Lies, damn lies, statistics and then football statistics. All bollocks. We are currently trending as 'fucking amazing' on all levels. Leave it at that.

We've also gone ahead in these games then effectively locked the game down and played on the break.

We've done what we needed to do.

I'm not one for stats.. You make your own luck on the footy pitch, any game and in life in general. Im enjoying the posivity at the moment, not going out thinking a draw away is a great result!!
